If you are here because you need some words wrangled onto a page for certain purpose, then yes, you are in the correct place. Visit the HIRE ME page to follow that path.
If you have popped by to learn about making a living as an author, freelance writer or copywriter, then start here with how to make money writing.
The rest of this blog is a vault of information housing my writing on things I have a professional clue about.
I’ve been a music teacher and store manager, infantry soldier for the Canadian Military, certified personal trainer and an electrician.
I enjoy archery, nature, reading, music and of course… writing.
When did I first start writing and why?
While I’ve always put thoughts to paper, I started making money with writing in 2001. That was the year I systemized my approach to getting in shape by losing weight and building muscle. After finishing my tour of duty with the Canadian infantry in Bosnia, I started work at Golds Gym as a personal trainer. Shortly thereafter, I realized I was teaching all my personal training clients the same basic information when they were getting started. Realizing this, I put it into a book format and gave each one a copy when I first met with them for a consultation.
Once I wrote the book on getting in shape, I realized I could sell the book to those that couldn’t afford one-on-one personal training. It was only a short jump from there to create a digital e-book and sell it off a website.
This is the big jump… ready for it? I had to learn how to create a website and then how to copyright the sales page, the landing page and create an email lead generation funnel. The study of sales and marketing followed which lead to A/B split testing and sales generating headlines.
I feel like I’m in the trolley tracks now gaining steam.
Now we have a digital product, I needed to market it. I chose to do content marketing and google adwords as the client generation methods to gain leads, which I could then market to.
Once I had created a huge website of content, I then placed google adsense on it to bring in extra income (I’ve since stopped giving away my traffic.)
Now that all the pieces were in place, I realized I had developed quite a few sales and marketing tools that I could apply to all my areas of expertise… and other people may have need of them.
So here we are. You know me and how I developed what I know. If you would like to work together, let’s start the conversation with an email. You can reach me at Ray@RaymondBurton.com
